Dawn Earley, Founder and Certified Professional Wedding Consultant
From the age of 6, Dawn insisted that she decorate her own birthday cakes. She began making her younger sister's birthday cakes (from Garfield and Grover to the Little Mermaid and Aladdin) as well as the cakes for all of the children that she babysat. Dawn made clothes by trial and error without any sewing classes by the time she was 10. She filled her free time with drawing and designing prom and wedding dresses, and she also worked in a flower shop during peak seasons while in high school. She worked full-time while attending Southwest Texas State University and majored in Psychology. Friends from school and church would frequently call her and ask for her to assist with their weddings, bachelorette parties, and showers. She began coordinating weddings in 1996 while still in college. Initially, out of school, she worked with deaf children and their families, and she also coordinated all of the Halloween and Christmas parties for the citywide program. She is known amongst her friends, family, and all of her previous co-workers as "Emily Post" and "Martha Stewart." (No jail time though.) She's often been asked if there's anything that she can't do. (The answer is YES! Don't ever ask Dawn to sing. She will be the first to admit that it is not pretty.) Dawn founded Your Very Own Fairy Godmother, and initially, she accepted only one intern. Since then, the firm has grown, and there are multiple coordinators and interns alike at what is now the largest firm in Texas. Both the Austin and Houston teams are touted as the best of the best in the industry.

Dawn is also the founder and President of the International Wedding Consultants' Certification Board, and she is on the Advisory Board for Nuptial Essentials Curriculum & Instruction. She is also the current Vice President of the Austin Wedding & Event Coordinators. It is important to her that she continues to educate other future wedding consultants.

Dawn married her own Prince Charming, Ross Earley, in April of 2004. Even then, she chose to have one of her fellow Fairy Godmother coordinators in addition to the coordinator that was provided by the wedding site. There is nothing that can ease the mind of a very detail-oriented wedding professional more than knowing that she has another detail-oriented wedding professional that she trusts attending to every element of her lovingly-planned day.

Dawn has done the floral arrangements, bouquets, boutonnieres, catering and cakes for weddings and showers, but her true passion is the planning and coordination of the big event. She wants to make sure that every detail is perfect for YOUR Cinderella story. Your Very Own Fairy Godmother Wedding & Event Coordination is proud of their reputation as people who sincerely want the bride, groom, their families, and wedding parties to feel as if the world has stopped to service them throughout the planning process and especially on the big day.

Jenn Goodner, Senior Planner and Certified PWC
Jenn Goodner, a native of Pennsylvania, is thrilled to have joined the Your Very Own Fairy Godmother team in 2005! After graduating from Oklahoma State University in 1998, Jenn began teaching choral music to middle school and high school students. Her experience directing large scale musical and theatrical productions prepared her to coordinate her first wedding- her own!

In true theatrical form, Mark proposed to Jenn at Thanksgiving dinner, November 2000 at her grandparents' farm (while all thirty of her relatives looked on!) She and Mark were married at the same farm one year later. Jenn truly enjoyed coordinating every detail of her special day and realized that this could be the beginning of an exciting new venture. Angel Carter, Associate Planner and Certified PWC

Angel was born in Hawaii but grew up just outside of Austin. She’s made several trips back to the Islands and is always waiting for the next opportunity to go, but Austin will always be home.

While in High School, Angel began taking photography classes and soon developed a passion for it. Her plan was to go to school to become a wedding photographer but plans moved slowly as Angel financially supported herself through the process by working in a variety of different fields. All were highlighting her exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills but it was one job in particular that allowed her the opportunity to assist in planning major events such as social events with clients and vendors, trade shows, and an annual golf tournament.

Her photography plans were still slowly progressing but that all came to a halt when she showed up to do a photo shoot at the Driskill. She opened the doors to the ballroom expecting to see a company party going on but instead found Scott, her boyfriend of 3 years, standing in the middle of the ballroom in a suit with a ring in hand. Angel’s new passion quickly became planning her OWN wedding from start to finish and she LOVED every minute of it! Shortly after they were married they started a family and she quit school and work to raise two handsome little boys.

As if raising two kids wasn’t enough to keep her busy, Angel volunteered to head up her Neighborhood Social Committee and for over 2 years she took pride in orchestrating events to be enjoyed by all. When she wasn’t heading up a major event for her neighbors, you could bet that she was having fun planning showers and celebrations for friends & family members. She was even elected to a committee to assist her church with a major 25 year anniversary celebration. Planning events came so naturally and she found such joy in creating an event that everyone looked forward to that it was no surprise to anyone when she became a Fairy Godmother on Valentine’s Day in 2011. Angel’s desire is to be just as invested as you are in the details of your wedding day so that you can relax and look back on your wedding day as the celebration you always dreamed it would be!

Lauren Gallaher, Associate Planner and Certified PWC

Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Lauren Gallaher is excited to be back in her hometown and part of the Your Very Own Fairy Godmother team. From planning elaborate Barbie weddings, cheerleading camps and sorority events, Lauren has always been the first to volunteer her time and skills.

After graduating from Texas Christian University in 2006 with a degree in Fashion Merchandising, Lauren moved to Los Angeles to explore the west coast fashion mecca. She began working for a footwear company, where her organizational skills, passion and creativity contributed to the successes of the sales department and the company's event planning.

With an innocent trip to Big Bear Mountain, CA in October 2009, John proposed to Lauren under the stars, with their two Jack Russell Terriers as witnesses. After moving back to Austin in June, Lauren married her high school sweetheart on October 3, 2010. While working on her own wedding, she quickly realized how much she enjoyed the entire process and seeing the outcome. Using her creativity and passion, she hopes to make your dream wedding a reality.

With seven years experience in many aspects of the hospitality industry, Megan found she truly wanted to work in a social and customer oriented career.

She has experience in event planning, catering and flower arranging. She has also had the opportunity to be in several weddings and the fun involved in planning several showers and bachelorette parties.

Skylar Sponholz, Associate Planner and Certified PWC

Skylar Sponholz was born in Houston, Texas to the owner of a local dance studio owner. Along with her own love of dance and being on stage, the most exciting part of each year was when Skylar would help her mother plan the end of the year recital. Every summer she could be found visiting potential production venues, pouring over costume catologues, and assigning dressing rooms to each of the class levels. By age ten, she had promoted herself to assistant manager. During high school, Skylar took part in coordinating many service events for the inner city Houston community including several food and toy drives and a number of fundraisers for the local shelters. In 2005, as the Maid of Honor, Skylar helped plan her own sister's wedding which sparked her interests in the wedding planning industry.

In 2007, Skylar moved to Austin where she is currently a student in her final year at The University of Texas double majoring in Sociology and Government. While putting herself through school, Skylar worked in a number of different fields in and around Austin while simulatenously acting as a member of the UT service organization, The Texas Wrangler Darlins. In the fall of 2009, Skylar was elected Recruitment Chair of her organization where she was gifted with the task of organizing and planning events for the recruitment process. It was this position that solidified her desire to obtain a career in the event planning industry.

Skylar joined the Your Very Own Fairy Godmother team in June of 2010 and is excited about where her experiences make take her in the future!

Ashley LeDesma
Ashley was born in Austin and has lived in the surrounding area all of her life.

Her exposure to the wedding and event planning industry began while still in high school as she watched her sister plan a multitude of both weddings and events.

Ashley has a huge heart and an innate ability to read people. This attribute has been a wonderful asset in helping brides, wedding parties, families and guests feel at home and be
stress-free.

Ashley became a Fairy Godmother in 2005 and planned her own destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas in the summer of 2008. She enjoyed being the bride and having Fairy Godmothers surrounding her to help her with every detail.
